The health and safety of our students, staff, and families is our top priority, and we want to ensure that all students and families feel safe, comfortable, and excited taking class in our space! As we carefully transition closer to our normal pre-Covid policies and procedures, we remain committed to providing a safe environment for all students to enjoy dancing, friendships, and learning. Please familiarize yourself with the updated information below regarding our safety procedures and policies at our studio. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Modifications will be made as needed and families of actively enrolled students will be updated accordingly.
Each dance room is outfitted with number place markers for students to use during certain portions of class. This is a standard element in our classrooms at all times, even pre-Covid, and each dance space is spaced several feet apart to keep dancers safely distanced. Classes will continue to limit physical interaction while giving students the freedom to move about the entire classroom space, rather than confinement to a 6′ x 6′ space as we did last season. Our waiting areas remain closed at this time. Additionally, our main office and dancewear boutique will have limited hours and we encourage payments/transactions to be handled online unless otherwise arranged. In-person transactions at our office or in our dancewear boutique can be made by appointment.
Sanitizing stations are still available near our entrance and throughout our facility for students and staff to sanitize hands upon entering and between interactions. We continue to clean our dance spaces and high-touch areas frequently.
DROP OFF & PICK UP PROCEDURES
All students for all classes should enter and exit through our main front door entrance. One parent/guardian of students ages 6 and under may accompany their child into our facility to drop them off at the classroom door. Class room assignments are posted on the class page in the online portal. There is ample parking in front of, alongside, and behind our facility. We encourage students to arrive dressed and ready for class. Parents/guardians may either wait in their vehicle, outside on the walkways and parking areas, or may leave and return in time for pick up.
PROCEDURES IN CLASS
As of July 2021, face masks are now optional for individuals 12 years of age and older (face masks continue to be required for all children under 12 years of age). If your dancer cannot wear a mask for medical reasons, please notify us in advance of their first class. As of August 2021, we anticipate face masks becoming optional for all individuals, regardless of age.
Prior to entering class, students can use the provided hand sanitizer at the door. Please limit personal belongings brought into class. We recommend to include: Dance shoes, closed water bottle (must have a screw top or snap top, not an open straw), and phone/key/ID/wallet if applicable all in an enclosed bag with the student’s name. Students are also welcome to bring their own sanitizer and/or tissues, but we have an ample supply throughout our facility.
Any student exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19 including, but not limited to fever/chills, cough, or shortness of breath will not be admitted into the facility. If a student exhibits symptoms while in class, a parent/guardian or emergency contact will be contacted to immediately pick up the child. While waiting, the student will be seated in a separate room away from others.
CLEANING & ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Our facility continues to be cleaned frequently in addition to disinfecting high-touch areas on a daily basis. To disinfect our facility we are using a hospital grade disinfectant listed on the EPA’s list of “Disinfectants for Use Against SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19)” and is designed for cleaning and disinfecting in areas such as athletic facilities, health clubs, exercise equipment, public areas, and restrooms.
Students will be grouped into no more than fifteen dancers and class activities will involve limited physical contact between students. We are following the guidelines set forth by the CDC and State of New Jersey for indoor recreational activities, as well as referencing the guidelines and recommendations for youth sports, youth day care, and youth camps to be thoroughly well-informed in deciding and implementing our safety procedures.
