THE HEALTH & SAFETY OF OUR DANCE FAMILY IS OUR TOP PRIORITY!
The health and safety of our students, staff, and families is our top priority, and we want to ensure that all students and families feel safe, comfortable, and excited taking class in our space! Below is information in great detail regarding our safety procedures and guidelines for dancing at our studio during the COVID-19 pandemic. Please note that while we are being extraordinarily thorough in our safety procedures by choice, many of these guidelines are in fact required in order to open our facility. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Modifications will be made as needed throughout the season.
Our class schedule, enrollment capacities, and dance studio spaces have been carefully crafted for us to operate at 25% capacity to reduce exposure and allow for proper social distancing in safe participation. Each dance room is outfitted with taped markings on the floor for each dancer to have their own assigned, personal dance space as well as a nearby personal space to put their personal belongings during class. Each dance space is spaced apart to keep dancers safely distanced and an aisle runs along the center of the room for dancers to safely enter and exit the dance room to use the bathroom facilities. As long as we are mandated to operate at a limited capacity, our waiting room must remain closed. This is outlined in the guidelines presented by the State of New Jersey. Additionally, the main office will be closed during classes and all payments/transactions will be handled online unless otherwise arranged. In-person transactions at our office our in our dancewear boutique can be made by appointment, if preferred.
DROP OFF & PICK UP PROCEDURES
We are fortunate to have exterior entrance/exit doors in each of our four dance rooms which we will be utilizing for drop off and pick up. Classes will begin five minutes after the hour (i.e. 4:05, 5:05, etc.). Please park in a parking spot near the door to your child’s classroom. There is ample parking in front of, alongside, and behind our facility. Dancers must arrive dressed and ready for class. You may either wait in your vehicle or outside the door on the walkway. Each door is clearly labeled with the name of the dance room. Our main front entrance door will be used for Room #1. Your dancer’s room assignments are posted on the class page in the online portal.
Classes will end five minutes before the hour (i.e. 4:55, 5:55, etc.) and dancers will be dismissed one at a time directly to a parent/guardian at that time. Classes will start/end on this schedule to allow for sanitizing of the dance room between each class and safe, spaced out entrance/exit of students between classes. Please keep careful track of your dancers’ belongings when entering/exiting. We will not have a lost & found collection at this time, and will have to dispose of items left at the studio at the end of each day.
PROCEDURES IN CLASS
When students enter the room, they will be given a pump of hand sanitizer and assigned a number. Each dancer will have their own numbered 6 foot by 6 foot taped square for dancing in as well as a small square along the perimeter of the room for their personal belongings. Please limit personal belongings brought into class. We recommend to include: 1 pair of dance shoes, closed water bottle (must have a screw top or snap top, not an open straw), and phone/key/ID/wallet if applicable. Students are also welcome to bring their own sanitizer and/or tissues, but we have an ample supply throughout our facility.
Individuals over the age of 2 are required to wear cloth face coverings while indoors. If anyone refuses to wear a face covering for non-medical reasons, then we are required to decline the individual entry into our indoor premises. If your dancer cannot wear a mask for medical reasons, please notify us in advance of their first class. Face masks are also required when six feet of social distancing cannot be maintained while outdoors. Students who bring their own water bottle will be permitted to briefly lower their mask to take water breaks during class.
Any student exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19 including, but not limited to fever/chills, cough, or shortness of breath will not be admitted into the facility. If a student exhibits symptoms while in class, a parent/guardian or emergency contact will be contacted to immediately pick up the child. While waiting, the student will be seated in a separate room away from others.
As much as we would love to hug our beloved students whom we’ve missed so much, please remind your child to avoid hugs, high fives, and other physical interactions. We will be beaming with smiles through our masks at the sigh of our students and will be so excited to see all of you! But please, no hugs yet.
CLEANING & ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Our facility will be thoroughly cleaned/sanitized on a daily basis in addition to disinfecting high-touch areas in between classes. To disinfect our facility, we are using a hospital grade disinfectant listed on the EPA’s list of “Disinfectants for Use Against SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19)” and is designed for cleaning and disinfecting in areas such as athletic facilities, health clubs, exercise equipment, public areas, and restrooms.
Our facility and outdoor waiting areas will be marked with ample signage and spacers to aid in proper hygiene and social distancing. Students will be grouped into no more than ten dancers and class activities will not involve physical contact between students. We are following the guidelines set forth by the CDC and State of New Jersey for indoor recreational activities, as well as referencing the guidelines and recommendations for youth sports, youth day care, and youth camps to be thoroughly well-informed in deciding and implementing our safety procedures
If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment to tour our facility, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are committed to providing a high-quality and safe learning experience and environment for every dancer!
